Too much sadness
A classmate of mine, Peter Odebjer, died yesterday in a motorcycle accident. He was 32 and from Sweden, a guy who was literally always on the go. Did things like fly airplanes, run marathons, drink like a fish, work with Doctors Without Borders in Darfur, and make other people feel good about themselves. I was fortunate to get to know him better in the past year, especially during a spring break trip to Japan. I had been very much looking forward to continuing the friendship.

I just happened to be looking through my old year book and came across Peter Odebjer. I met him when he was an exchange student at Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He and I had homeroom and an English class together. Peter was a very nice guy and I enjoyed getting to know him. We kept in touch after graduation for a little while. He and he brother were going to be traveling across the United States that summer. With everyone trying to lead their own lives and trying to discover what was out there in the world. We lost contact. I googled his name just to see if anything would come up. I was said to hear that Peter was killed. It's just so strange to find out that someone you knew died so young. This may sound a little strange. But, I said goodbye to Peter after I read this. Good to know that some that was as nice and kind hearted as Peter is now and angel and helping even more individuals.
